Life's Little Frustrations

I'm afraid my mind has begun to go.

I can't remember what I know!

New Life

John 11:25, "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies."

I love spring! The world has such a different look when the drab, brown grass of winter begins to turn green, the bare, shivering trees begin to push forth new leaves, and luscious buttercups, tulips, and fragrant hyacinths poke their heads through the dark, damp earth and dot it with color and beauty. When the pink and white dogwood trees, the multicolored azaleas, the graceful, yellow forsythia, and the shimmering Bradford pear trees burst forth in all their spring glory, my heart rejoices.

What a beautiful picture God paints in nature every year to celebrate the resurrection of His Son, to depict new life after death, glory following deepest sorrow. The season of spring is a visual confirmation of eternal life.

One day we, too, shall burst forth from sorrow, sickness, sin, and death with glorious, splendid new bodies to live forever and ever in the wonderful new home which our Lord has prepared for us. Because He lives, we too, shall live!

Heavenly Father, Thank You so much for the hope, the assurance, of life after death, eternity spent in heaven with You and our precious Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank You for the beautiful picture of eternal life we see every spring. Amen.

Life's Little Frustrations

You drive around a crowded mall

Until you spot a space.

Then some stranger has the gall

To grab YOUR parking place!

Avoiding Traffic Jams

Prov. 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths."

Several years ago I was headed north on Interstate 65, traveling from Hartselle to Decatur, Alabama. As I came to a particular stretch of the road, southbound traffic was at a stand still for a distance of approximately three miles. Farther up the highway, south- bound cars were moving right along without any inkling of the delay which awaited them ahead. With my superior knowledge, I longed for some way to warn them to take an alternate route and avoid the traffic jam.

God sees through time as clearly as we see through space. He knows exactly what the future would hold for us on each path that we might take. With His superior knowledge, think how He must long to warn us which paths to take to avoid unnecessary delays, problems, or dead ends. He has installed a warning system in His Word for those who will read it and heed it. And if we are attuned to His Spirit, He will guide us personally and daily through prayer, devotionals, circumstances, other people, and an inward peace when we are walking in the center of His will.

Prayer: Father, may I always walk right in the center of Your will for my life. It's the very best place I can ever be! Amen.

Life's Little Frustrations

I try to empty the dirty clothes bin.

My washer's always sloshing.

But more clothes just keep piling in,

And I never finish washing!
